Scope

  • Removal of asbestos containing fire spray foam insulation from 154,000 s.f. of Q Deck and piping
  • Warehouse shelving remains in place
  • Poly wrap all walls, floors, walk-in coolers, interior equipment and piping, to prevent contamination
  • High-Risk containment, with up to 10 negative air units, with removal by grinding, scraping and blasting
  • Provide decontamination facilities and showers

The project was completed while the Water Treatment Plant remained fully operational, with work continuing through winter under extensive hoarding and heating. Working alongside the General Construction Contractor, our team coordinated daily with other trades to ensure safe, efficient progress. Despite the challenges of an active facility and harsh seasonal conditions, Train 1 was completed on schedule in 2020, followed by Train 2 in 2021. We also exceeded the Town’s Environmental Plan requirements, maintaining exceptional standards for damage prevention, dust control, and debris management.

Scope

  • Supply all resources, planning and engineering for the abatement and demolition of the Three Hills WTP
  • Removal & disposal of lead paint and paint contaminated demolished items & debris
  • Demolition of flocculation basin cells to increase size and treatment capability, in an active plant
  • High Risk environment required use of demolition robots and remote-controlled saws to deconstruct 12” walls

  • Contractor Employees to possess Security Clearance with a crew size of 5 to 20 waste technicians
  • Work areas included High, Medium and Low Risk, containment, decontamination area, and negative air
  • Isolation of electrical and air supply from mall and seal all breaches within the work area
  • Interior demolition includes ceiling tiles, carpet, floor tiles, floor glue, partitions, glass, HVAC ducting, insulation, wiring, conduit, and lighting fixtures
